Did you know puppies go through adolescence where they can become more curious, more energetic, and more aware of their environment. Jr Puppy Class is here to help your Puppy Pal learn and practice good manners while continuing to build socialization skills. Every Jr Puppy class is different and includes a mix of small, medium, and large size Jr Puppies who are all 4 to 12 months of age.

How Jr Puppy Class is Different

Jr Puppy Class combines on-leash and off-leash learning, designed for adolescent puppies as their social needs shift and distractions increase. Each class is different, with time spent learning and practicing manners skills like stay, lay down, loose leash walking, how to prevent jumping, polite greetings and supervised off-leash play with small, medium, and large size dogs and their humans.

If you and your Puppy Pal aren’t sure or comfortable being off-leash with small to large dogs, we recommend starting with our Minding Our Manners course.

To help keep the experience positive for everyone, here’s what your Puppy Pal needs before joining:

✔️ Be between 4 and 12 months of age
✔️ Have their Rabies vaccination
✔️ Be spayed or neutered if over 8 months of age
✔️ Comfortable interacting with small, medium and large size dogs.

Q: What vaccines are required to participate in Jr Puppy Class?
A: To join Jr Puppy Class, your Puppy Pal must have their Rabies vaccination.

Q: Will my puppy be grouped only with others of the same size?
A: Jr Puppy Class is mixed-size, with small, medium, and large puppies learning and playing together under the supervision of their humans and guided by the trainer.

Q: What if my dog can be reactive around people or other dogs?
A: If your dog can be reactive around other dogs, please schedule a Private Training phone call.

Q: What is covered in Jr Puppy Class?
A: We learn and practice skills like leash manners, listening around distractions, sit, spin, and sit-stays in a supportive group environment. What makes this class unique is the mix of on-leash training and off-leash group playtime. Q: How many people can I bring to class?
A: Each Puppy Pal is welcome to bring up to two humans to class. Jr Handlers (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
