AIRDRIE, ALBERTA (SEPTEMBER 13th, 2023) – Airdrie Puppy Pals is proud to announce that Nikki Nordick, Owner and Dog Behavior Consultant has been named a Finalist for the 2023 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards for the Micro-Business Award. The RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards are the pre-eminent national business awards recognizing the country’s leading female entrepreneurs. Now in its 31st year, the program is an initiative of Women of Influence+, an award-winning organization dedicated to advancing Canadian women.
From a pool of thousands of nominees, 20 Finalists from coast to coast have been selected to represent 7 Award Categories. The Micro-Business Award is dedicated to a female entrepreneur that who owns and operates a small but impactful business that generates an annual revenue of under $1 million. Evaluated on a micro level, the winner of this award can operate in any industry, at any stage and in any region and demonstrates a successful growth rate. Nikki Nordick is one of 3 Regional Finalists being recognized in this category and is representing the Western Region of Canada.
Airdrie Puppy Pals was born from a desire to create a community among local dog owners. Founded in 2014, Airdrie Puppy Pals started as a Facebook community organizing free playdates for dogs. Nikki's passion project evolved into a business offering specialized Dog Daycare and Training services. Our mission is to foster quality relationships with dog owners who share our core values - treating others like family, proactive safety, and community involvement. With plans for growth and service diversification, Nikki aims to position Airdrie Puppy Pals as a leading dog care provider beyond Airdrie, while maintaining our high care and service standards.

The winners will be announced and celebrated in-person at the 31st Annual Awards Gala, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. This year, Women of Influence+ is thrilled to host this inspiring red-carpet event at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, where nominees, executives, dignitaries, and notable industry guests will come together once again for an evening of celebration and meaningful connection with business leaders from across the country.
The RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards recognize women business owners from across Canada who make impressive and substantial contributions to the local, Canadian, or global economy. These awards recognize businesswomen and leaders of non-profits from three major regions across Canada: East, Central, and West. All nominees are required to submit thorough applications, which are reviewed and judged by a panel of prominent business leaders and subject to a due diligence performed by Deloitte.
